Sutton Christian Centre has a very active ministry to the older members of the community, under the umbrella title of ROSE Ministries, where ROSE stands for the vision of ‘Reaching Out to Seniors Everywhere’. We work closely with local churches and agencies such as AgeUK to fulfill this vision.

Afternoon Tea
2.15 pm – 3.45 pm on Wednesdays
Our guests enjoy a warm welcome, a hot drink and a great time to chat and build friendships. Our regular programme includes a short epilogue, discussions and outings.

Special Events for Seniors
Lunches
During the year we have occasional lunches. These increasingly popular events include a range of activities, entertainment and a 3-course meal, concluding with cakes, hot drinks and a short epilogue. Please keep an eye on our calendar for the date of our next lunch or give us a call on 020 8642 8117.

Summertime Special for Seniors
Along with other local churches, for a number of years we have been involved in a 4-day event for Sutton’s seniors, usually held in July. Details of our next event will appear here when dates are confirmed.

Let’s Dance
Each Wednesday morning from 10 to 11.30am, we host AgeUK’s dance group for older people in the main hall at SCC. If you want to have some fun in a friendly group, please call 020 8770 6959 to find out more.

Residential & Nursing Homes Visitation
On Sunday afternoons and throughout the week, our teams visit Residential and Nursing Homes in the community to take a service, including favourite hymns, a short Christian message and prayers for individual residents and the Homes. The service concludes with a time to talk and share with each resident attending.

We also provide weekly pastoral support to residents and staff in 6 of the Homes we visit.

Visits at home
We are able to visit individual people in their own homes. Please contact the church office if you would like a visit.
