Welcome to SCC!
We’re a vibrant pentecostal church in the heart of Sutton with a mission to lovingly connect communities to Christ. To find out a bit more about us, why not read about our vision and values, or read our story. If you want to get involved, find out about our small groups, or come along on a Sunday!
Prayer underpins everything that we do at Sutton Christian Centre and we encourage our congregation to be people who pray. Whether it’s on Sundays or during the week, there are many opportunities to pray at SCC.
17th January 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Midweek Prayer Meeting
SCC runs a number of groups for 0 – 11 year olds.
A crèche is provided during our morning Communion services. This is for babies and toddlers aged 0-3 years only. Click here to download our ‘Welcome to Creche’ leaflet.
Beginners is the Sunday School for 3-5 year olds, and includes praying, singing, a Bible-based story and activity. It is designed to help each child to gain an understanding of the things of God.
On reaching the grand old age of 5, the children are “promoted” to King’s Club.
There is no Beginners on our Fanmily Service Sundays.
10.10-11.45am Sundays King’s Club is for the 4-11s (Reception – Year 6) and is a lively mixture of games and quizzes, crafts and memory verses, worship and teaching. Our aim is to help children become active in all aspects of their faith (contact the Church Office for more information and our vision statement “Activ-8”).
A high priority is given to small group work where children can ask questions, discuss, pray together and learn, in an age-appropriate way.
King’s Club takes place in the sports hall of Homefield School, just across the road from the church and children are very carefully led there and back.
Tate Road Tots
10.00 to 11.30am Tuesdays in term time
Tate Road Tots is a Parent and Toddler group, which is affiliated to the charity of Bliss. We welcome all parents and toddlers, including those who have spent time in neonatal units. Cost is just £2 per family, refreshments included. If you would like to know more, please email Clare at email@example.com or call us on 020 8642 8117.
We put a high priority on child protection and health and safety at Sutton Christian Centre. Our workers are police-checked and have received training in child protection matters (or are currently undergoing training/checks). A copy of our Child Protection Policy is available on request.
The Zone is for 11-15 year olds, providing a valuable bridge from King’s Club into Transit and the main church.
The Zone staff work hard to make sure that the Zoners in their care establish and develop a personal relationship with God.
Legacy is the weekly meeting for young people of 11+years to get to know God in a relevant way. There’s a tuck shop, games, teaching….and plenty of time for getting to know each other through activities on the night.
LEGACY and the ZONE share a FACEBOOK page, which you can jump to, by clicking HERE!
8-10pm alternate Tuesdays
Our church meets in small groups in homes around the borough. These K groups are an expression of the life of the church and focus on relationships, providing a safe environment to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ, each other, and in relating to our community.
Sutton’s Health and Prayer Evening (S.H.A.P.E.) aims to encourage and support members as they try to lose weight. The evening involves prayer, as well as getting on the scales!
SCC Men is the group for the men in the church. In the past we have played table tennis together, walked together…and eaten together! Please watch this space for news of further events for the men.
Serving, leading and equipping women to realise their potential and be actively involved in the life of Sutton Christian Centre.
SCC Ladies has developed different interest groups, such as card making, meeting for meals, etc., which enable the women of our church to develop relationships with each other and to help them reach out to those who don’t yet know God personally. These groups feed into the main SCC:Ladies events which have a definite spiritual focus. Again, watch this space for news of future events.
